Geography and Population

Dubai is one of the seven Emirates in the United Arab of Emirates, the city is located on the Persian Gulf, in the northeast of the United Arab Emirates. Dubai is the second largest emirate with a population of 3.03 million as of 2018 with an urban area of 3885 sq km and the city is roughly 35 sq km. However it will expand to twice that size with the addition of the man-made islands; the Waterfront, the three Palms, the World, the Universe, Dubai land, as well as the constructions in the desert.

Climate

Dubai has a tropical desert climate because of its location in the Northern Desert. This means that you will enjoy glorious sunshine and unbroken blue skies throughout the year, that’s why the city is famous for its clear white sandy beaches and aqua parks. It is also true that the city gets really hot during the summer with the temperature reaching sometimes beyond 40°C, but then during winter usually it does not get much below 20°C.

Low Tax environment

Dubai is well known for its lenient tax policies, the city does not impose income taxes or property taxes. The United Arab Emirates generally is a tax-free country, however, the country now collects VAT on some goods plus revenues in other forms such as parking charges and similar discrete means.

Transportation

The city provides a world-class transportation system, and this is due to the high-quality different traveling means the city provides. These include regular taxis, water taxis, buses, metro, trams and even air travels means such as a helicopter which became recently popular.
This outstanding transportation system was made possible because of the high quality and modern infrastructure the city is built upon. The city is known for its enormous 12 lane high way roads that make transportation much faster and efficient. The influx of new technologies has meant that hailing a taxi from an app is also a very convenient way to travel.

How secure is Dubai?

Dubai is considered one of the safest cities in the world when it comes to general security, the city has a very low crime rate and rigorous law enforcement. The city has very strict laws to make sure crime is kept to a minimum and many tourists feel much safer in Dubai than they do in other parts of the globe.

Medical facilities

The city has many modern clinics and hospitals, these medical centers generally provide a very good service. However you must have a good medical insurance or else your bill will be extremely expensive, so we would recommend anyone visiting or moving to this glamorous city to get an insurance in advance or just on arrival.

Real Estate Market

Dubai’s real estate market is undoubtedly one of the biggest in the world now, the city’s property investors noticed a steady increase in returns since the announcement of the Expo 2020.
Investors who invest in Dubai’s property market are generally keen to invest in off-plan projects, this is mainly because the prices are well below the current market price and also developers generally provide great off plan incentives.
